Pain of a girl child

I  am not a regular blogger. I am a pediatrician (child specialist) by profession. I assist deliveries with gynaecologist and look after the well being of a newly born child.
I just came here to share a pain of a girl child who has just opened his eyes in this world and is surrounded by so much hatred. Everything is going fine untill the baby comes out, i stabilise the newborn child and help him to struggle in this new environment. But when i talk to parents and grandparents and inform them about the gender of the baby i see a varying emotions on there faces. When i tell them about the baby girl majority of them behave like   oh my god what has happened to us. I specially take a note on grandparents (dadi) they just behave like what i have said to them, have i stolen something from them. It feel so painful for that newly born girl. How this baby will survive in this environment. Girl child should be welcomed like a goddess Laxmi.
